“ I have been asked what I mean by ‘word of honor.’ I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls-walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground-there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first.” - Karl G. Maesar
What this quote means in a way is to keep a promise. Like the quote said about drawing a chalk line around him and him having to give his word of honor to not get out, he has to stay there since he promised to. Theres things you can get out of only if there was no promise made. But if there was a promise made keep it. For example, if you promised to turn in an assignment to a teacher by the end of the day do it. You promised you will turn it in don’t break the promise because then that will make them not let you turn anything in if it’s late since you broke their promise the first time. Just don’t break the promises you make. Keep them and choose to do the right thing when it comes to that.
