Neonatologist (Neonatology)
Duties and Responsibilities: Neonatologists are pediatricians who have received additional, specialized training in the care of infants. They diagnose and treat newborns. They also provide preventive care, such as making sure parents and adequately feeding and attending to their newborn's needs. Neonatologists focus on their service on infants four weeks old or younger.
Salary: $201,732
Education: A neonatologist must complete 14 years of training that includes four years of undergraduate school, four years of medical school, a pediatric residency and a neonatology fellowship. Graduates must become licensed as a medical doctor, which is done through the state medical board and requires passing the United States Medical Licensing Examination.
