What this quote is trying to say is that having a good reputation for yourself is the way you can achieve in life. Having a good reputation is better than having a bad one. Like once people hear your name or mention it they will remember you by all the good things you have done. It's like choosing to do the right things for yourself. Just like coach k, his reputation wasn't bad he was the best coach. Anyone can just achieve in their life by doing the best they can to have a good reputation.
