student success statement

" I wasn't trying to have a legacy. I was trying to do what was right. " - Dean Smith

This quote means is that you should always do what's right. Don't choose to do the wrong things. If you choose the wrong, you will not  succeed. An example from a bad point of view will be someone who decides to ditch to just be out the whole day with friends. That person is choosing to do the wrong things so they can't be successful in a class because they won't know what things the teacher taught the day they ditched. Another example with a good point of view is like someone who shows up to class and they have their work done. They know what is going on because they didn't decide to ditch and they wanted to pay attention to whatever they were being taught and they got their work and everything to get a good grade.

student success statement

" It's not about how to achieve your dreams. It's about how to lead your life. If you lead your life the right way, the karma (destiny, fortune, good luck) will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you. " - Dr. Randy Pausch

What this quote means is that if you lead your life the right way good karma will take care of you. You should choose the right from wrong. If you choose to do the wrong things you will have bad karma. Your life could be the way you never wanted it to be and you will turn out to be miserable. For example, if you smoke cigarettes, karma will come back. Later in life, you may develop a serious lung disease. Another example is when you do your homework. All the bad choices you have made will take care of themselves because you are on the right path. It's always best to choose to do the right things because you end up getting good karma.

theodore roosvelt quote

" Of all the work that is done or that can be done for our country, the greatest is that of education the body, the mind, and above all the characters, giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destinies of the nation. " - Theodore Roosevelt

What this quote means is that you have to choose the right because that will make you a better person that will help you realize right from wrong. For example from the bad view of this quote is a person that smokes is choosing the wrong. They are harming their body, therefore, they are harming their character, and their personality. If you harm your character you aren't the same person you were before. All the bad choices you choose to do influence on who you start to become later. Another example of this quote from a good view is someone that does their homework. This person is choosing the right and is not harming their mind, in fact, they are feeding it with knowledge. If you want to be successful all you have to do is choose to do the right things for yourself.

"Take responsibility for your own body, mind, and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well-being." - Mr. C. S. Haymore

What this quote means is to take responsibilities for yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually. Be kind to your body, and do not harm it. For example, a person who smokes is harming their body. This person is burning their lungs. This will affect them later in life because they will have difficulties with breathing and bad habits. Another example is when someone does their homework. This person is treating their mind right. They are distracting the mind from unwanted thoughts. When you treat your body right, you are happier. Choose the right.
